Elma Orr has a Master’s Degree in International Economics, and worked for 20+ years as a program buyer for an aircraft manufacturer and Ford Motor Co. She became a full time artist in 2005, when she quit Ford Motor Company and moved to Mississippi with her husband and daughter, to become a stay-at-home mom. Then she decided to build upon her passion for art, and started experimenting with oil painting and acrylics.
Elma has held gallery shows in Mississippi (Grenada, Oxford, Greenwood) and in San Francisco, CA. Elma has sold to collectors in Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida, Michigan, Georgia, and Saudi Arabia.

During my process of creation I combine the planned with the unexpected to achieve something dynamic, beautiful, and inviting.
My inspiration comes naturally. I seek to paint my own version of what there is, which results ultimately in a realm of infinite possibilities. Within my own interpretation and depiction of the theme and object I have chosen, my paintings become a visual manifestation of my feelings in that moment, and my emotions and my perceptions of the energies around me.
