About Mary Jo...
I enjoy painting still lifes set up in a garden, but also enjoy painting landscapes of places I've visited. My eyes seem to be drawn to the sharp contrast created by natural light and textures. Watercolor, which is extremely flexible, lends itself perfectly to rendering the subtleties of light and textures that I am trying to capture on paper.
