Best of the Best 2015


The second annual DFAA Best of the Best Juried Member Exhibition will be on view in the library hall of the Spruill Center for the Arts from October 7, 2015 through January 8, 2016. Lynn Weisbach, artist, was our juror. Congratulations to all! And of course, thank you to our juror, Lynn Weisbach, for wise choices.

Some comments made by juror Lynn Weisbach:

In general, it was difficult to choose as the quality of the art was so good. In any event some comments regarding the winning entries:

  • 1st Place, "Peace in the Storm", Karen Peay: strong design, colors are harmonized, good technique

  • 2nd Place, "Evening at the 11th Street Dock", Gerry Grimes: technically beautiful, strong design, great drafting and brush work

  • 3rd Place, "Honey Pig", Terri Enfield: strong design, sophisticated color palette, good shapes

  • Honorable Mention, "Serenity", Maria Skrinjar: nice colors and good textures, nice graphic

  • Honorable Mention, "Breaking Away", Dixie Schoolar: strong design

  • Honorable Mention, "Waiting", Priscilla Glenn: good design, emotional context, well done painting
