CHRISTOPHER SHERRY

Christopher Sherry, retired architect and professor, came to Atlanta in 1974, by way of Boston and Miami. He is presently a member of the Dunwoody Fine Art Association, Atlanta Art Center, Artists Atelier, Portrait Society of Atlanta and America, and Georgia Art League. He teaches two levels of painting (techniques and studio) at several art centers in the Atlanta area.

 

Christopher started drawing in his teens, and started painting in 2006. He enjoys painting in oil and/or watercolor. Typically he paints landscapes and still lifes. He paints in a loose impressionistic style using a four color palette. His future goals include painting portraits and figurative compositions.

Figurescapes - The figure is a complex and fluid form. I enjoy portraying the figure as a landscape. A segment of the figure creates the landscape.

 

Art With A Twist -  Art is often used to mimic life – in a realistic or interpretive manner. Art is frequently used as a medium to express an emotion. It is similar to our memory which in time tends to skew reality.
