Barbara is a retired elementary school educator and administrator. Art came into focus when she retired in July 2000. Art classes were Barbara's main focus. She has taken classes in figure drawing, abstract painting, plein aire painting, collage, structure and composition. Barbara has attended classes at Abernathy, Chastain and Spruill Art Centers for the past 20 + years. She has also enjoyed workshops with renowned artists such as Charles Sovek, Robert Burridge and Robert Johnson. She has also participated in watercolor, multi media and plein aire workshops.

Barbara has held several board positions at DFAA over a number of years. She has also served as the chair of the Sights & Insights Exhibition committee multiple times and we thank her for her positive and encouraging leadership.

About Barbara...

To me, painting is a mystery...the canvas is blank and as you add color to the canvas the magic begins to happen. I find great joy in experimenting and playing with color and shape.
