Katie is an abstract oil painter, specializing in gold leaf and plastered textures. Katie is the proud wife of Tim, and mother to Anna (13), and Matthew (10). When not painting, Katie is focused on her non-profit, Everyday Art, with co-owner Maureen Sullivan. Katie is a proud, local Dunwoody resident and knew this was her family's home the minute her realtor brought her to E. 48th Street Market. Katie is full of joy and is a positive person who has never met a stranger. Katie is also an enthusiastic above the knee amputee, as of January 2024, and frequently shows off her hot pink leg she's named "Leslie." She wants everyone to know it's ok to ask questions about art, life, and everything in between. Finding joy through tragedy, Katie is always available to meet a new friend.

About Katie...

With an undergraduate degree in Communication and minor in Journalism, Katie utilizes her creative side to construct unique abstract pieces, layered with texture to encourage people to truly feel the painting. After receiving her MBA from Georgia (GO DAWGS), she recognized her art was special to other people, too. There evolved "KKCabstracts." She is active on her social media and web site, sharing pieces as they are available and any upcoming festivals. Katie gravitates to the ocean; therefore, many pieces include color shades of blue, green, pink, and white. Check out her art and follow along as Katie continues to evolve.
