Surin was born in Thailand but spent most of his adult life in the United States. He learned how to paint when he was very young and did quite well in watercolors. Surin was introduced to oil painting during the late seventies and fell in love with it. After that, all of his paintings were mostly done in oils. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, Surin was an executive in the publishing and technology industries. Business has taken him to many parts of the world. He sees beauty in everything and everyone.
I am particularly attracted to French impressionist and post-impressionist painting styles. Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Matisse and Bonnard are a few of my idols. I also love the Pre-Raphaelites. I am also a bilingual writer and translator. Five of my books in English that deal with Eastern philosophy and mental cultivation have been published.
